A few weeks ago, Brian Clark of Copyblogger.com confided in me that he was leaving DIYThemes, and splitting paths from the embattled Thesis theme and lead developer Chris Pearson. He agreed to do an interview with me exclusively about this news. This is the entire transcript of that interview.
Technosailor.com: Brian, thanks for agreeing to this interview. Obviously, the timing of this announcement and interview are interesting considering the discussions that have been happening in the WordPress community as it pertains to licensing and DIYThemes, the creator of the Thesis theme. You’ve been with DIYThemes since its inception and have championed the theme. You’re leaving the company now. Can you describe the reasoning that has gone into this decision?
He has worked for a variety of startups and is currently peddling his skills for a startup in Austin, TX that is still in stealth mode.
He currently resides in Austin, where he samples tacos and queso like they are going out of style.
I see you changed the price on the blog starter….good idea. Much better. But you don’t mention whether you’ve included a blogging program. Is WordPress or MT installed?The site content needs a little work — e-mail me and I’ll give you the details.

Groovy…and the price is looking better and better :-)On another note: what Carol already asked: if it’s called “Blog starter” shouldn’t you say something about that? Is a blogging software like WordPress preinstalled or is it just the normal support for such software (mysql-dbs)?

Mike N.- Let’s talk QB’s for a moment. Right now, according to ESPN, Green Bay has a total of 5 QB’s in their roster:*Brett Favre*Jose Fuentes(questionable no stats on him but still listed)*Craig Nall*J.T. O’Sullivan*Doug PedersonNow if you can answer me this million dollar question I will gladly submit to your Favre Love and lay off him, atleast til the season starts:With so many back ups A)Why does the fans and the team still rely solely on Favre to pull them thru the season when obviously last year he made critical mistakes in judgement B)If he is so great, why keep so many back ups? C)Don’t you think as a coach or an owner you don’t want the fate of your team resting on 1 guy?I will conceed that in terms of Green Bay QB’s Favre is the best they’ve got, but that’s no excuse not to be mentoring and training the rookies. And #2, just because Brett is the best on the pack’s offense doesn’t mean some rookie free agent can’t waltz into the lineup after another season.Favre is nearing his term limit (age in this case) Let go Luke, Trust the force! :)

Good call, Vin. That’s what I get for changing to an h3 tag and forgetting that I had styled it that way. heh. Fixed for now. I want a better way to do feeds and also at least one other feed. I wouldn’t mind playing with a “sponsor” feed kind of idea if any of you are interested. I’ll thow the first one up there free for a month and see how traffic goes. I haven’t really been promoting Emmense so traffic is naturally down, but hopefully you might benefit a little.Aaron

Don’t get me wrong here, I like some of Google’s resources. Namely email. But is Google News that big of a deal considering aggregators? I hardly EVER surf places like Fox News or CNN for information because I get so many feeds in my reader. As for Google’s (cough)”praiseworthy”(cough) search tool, I have a difficult time liking it merely for the fact that marketers and advertisers tend to get atleast the top 5 results in anything I search for before I get to what it is I’m looking for. But that has been an ongoing problem since Search Engines showed up on the internet scene.Then there is blogger.com, Hello, and picasa2, 3 tools I have nothing but good things to say. So, I suppose 2 out of 6 isn’t so bad?
