The Steelers

This space is generally reserved for a congratulatory message to the new Super Bowl Champions, however I can’t do that today. You see, I’m from Baltimore and despite the shocking amount of support from Baltimorons for Pittsburgh, the Steelers are the hated enemy. Like I said, I cannot fathom how anyone who lives in Baltimore can possibly support the Steelers. I hear the sob story about how the Baltimore Colts pulled out in the middle of the night in a secret move to Indianapolis and I understand how, while Baltimore had no NFL team for years, many football fans took up supporting the Redskins, Steelers and Eagles as they were the geographical close teams. However, now Baltimore has it’s own team again and the Steelers are the hated enemy. No self-respecting Baltimoron should have any support for them. Period.

I often say that my favorite football team is the Baltimore Ravens and my second favorite is whomever is playing the Steelers. So, naturally, my support layed with the Seahawks last night. It was a good game as Super Bowls go but I refuse to congratulate the Steelers on their win. Call it sour grapes. To me, the play of the game went to Tom Brady for the coin flip.

Side Question: Who thought up having Brady flip the coin? Did the Patriots have to have a role in the game? :)

So I’ll just say, 8 months until football season starts again.

Why did Brady flip the coin? They were trying to give him proper respect

Pfffft. If it’s respect that is needed, where was John Elway or Joe Montana? What about Terry Bradshaw. If you’re looking for current players, surely Peyton Manning is a better quarterback than Tom Brady. No, I think Bob Kraft owns the NFL. :)
