NFL Playoff Watch: The Indy Lost Edition (Week 11)

Last week, I began doing the whole NFL playoff watch series. A lot happened this week, so let’s get to the playoff picture as it stands at this moment. At the time of this writing, the Sunday night game between San Diego and Denver is still being played and obviously, the Monday Night Football game has yet to be played. Therefore, since the results of these games will change the playoff picture for the week, this entry will be adjusted accordingly.

AFC

  1. Indianapolis Colts, 9-1 (Win AFC South, First Round Bye, Home Field Advantage throughout the playoffs)
  2. Baltimore Ravens, 8-2 (Win AFC North, Win #2 seed based on head to head with San Diego, First Round Bye)
  3. San Diego Chargers, 8-2 (Win AFC West by head-to-head tiebreaker with Denver)
  4. New England Patriots, 7-3 (Win AFC East)
  5. Denver Broncos, 7-3 (Win first wildcard slot)
  6. Kansas City Chiefs, 6-4 (Win second wildcard slot)

On the Bubble: New York Jets, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals

NFC

  1. Chicago Bears, 9-1 (Win NFC North, First Round Bye, Home Field Advantage throughout the playoffs)
  2. New York Giants, 6-3 (Win NFC East, First Round Bye)*
  3. Seattle Seahawks, 6-4 (Win NFC West, Win #3 seed based on winning percentage in common games with Carolina)
  4. Carolina Panthers, 6-4 (Win NFC South based on head-to-head tiebreaker with New Orleans)
  5. Dallas Cowboys, 6-4 (Win first wildcard, Win #5 seed over New Orleans with winning percentage in common games)
